VOVY Company Mascot & Branding Launch
We've been working with VOVY Company (@Jack Saltel) on their mascot, branding, web design, and more. The project includes creating a fully rigged animated character in Rive, exported as a video asset for a Times Square banner, while preparing it for web interactions and multiple poses.
Requirements, Challenges & Process
Requirements
The project required the creation of a mascot that could function seamlessly across both web platforms and large-scale digital banners. The character needed to be rigged for multiple poses and interactive web states, with all assets prepared for a live display in Times Square. Additionally, it was essential to maintain consistent branding throughout all digital platforms to ensure a cohesive visual identity.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was translating the Rive animations into video format for the Times Square banner without any loss of quality. It was also critical to ensure that the web interactivity accurately reflected the animation states from Rive. Coordinating a four-month collaboration among remote team members added another layer of complexity, requiring clear communication and organization.
Process
We provided a team consisting of:

The process began with initial concept sketches and branding iterations to define the visual style of the mascot. The character was then rigged in Rive with multiple poses and states for both web and video use. Animations were exported as video assets and integrated into web prototypes, which were tested to ensure all interactive states worked as intended. The final step involved deploying the completed assets for the live Times Square display, achieving a seamless integration across all platforms.
The Concept
The project revolves around creating a dynamic mascot that is not only visually engaging but fully interactive. Using Rive, the character was rigged for multiple web poses and states, while being exported as a high-quality video for public display on Times Square. The design merges branding consistency with interactivity, showcasing the mascot as a central element across both physical and digital platforms.
